As an independent contractor, operating under the name Liquid Amber Studio, I have provided advise, designs and fully implemented solutions to a range of customers with user interface problems. Arizona Sundogs I performed a heuristic analysis of the web site of this Central Hockey League team. Once the recommendations of my report were implemented, the team received an award for the best web site in the league. Cape Visions and Global 360 During a many year relationship that is still ongoing, I assisted in a variety of projects in the area of workflow management. I designed and implemented a diagraming application, Sketchpad BPMN. Sketchpad BPMN is a lightweight diagramming application that allows users to draw workflow diagrams in the Business Process modeling Notation, BPMN. The diagrams are stored in the XML Process Definition Language, XPDL. Sketchpad BPMN is a Java application developed using the Eclipse development environment. I created a webapp that evaluates XPDL files for correctness. It validates files in XPDL format against the XPDL schema and applies an XLS transformation to identify inconsistencies in the model. This webapp was implemented using HTML, JSP, Java, and Tomcat. I added a reporting feature to Global 360's BPM suite. This work involved C# and C++ programing using Visual Studio 2005. Harvard Yard Child Care Center, Cambridge Ma. I designed and developed an informational web site. Synquiry, Belmont Ma. I advised principals about overall user interface strategy for an advanced system-modeling product. I designed novel 2-d and 3-d data visualizations and explored user interface features of the product. Krieger Medical, North Reading Ma. I designed and implemented an integrated video display for devices used during endoscopic surgery for Krieger Medical. Work included design sessions with domain experts, advising product managers, design of front-end and back-end, evaluation of hardware for video capture, benchmarking of computer systems, implementation using Visual C++ and MFC.
